had a check-up saturday afternoon and based on my congenital anomaly scan (cas), my ob-gyne said my baby is small. she added another vitamin for me to take. and she wants me to take caltrate plus again.
that's 4 vitamins in a day. plus a uterine relaxant, that makes it 5. whew! i'm not really sure what each one does. don't even know why i didn't even bother to ask my ob. tsk.
let me try and look it up on the net...
1. moriamin forte (multivitamins & amino acids): http://www.europharm.com/production/production/
for malnutrition? i only heard my doctor say my baby is small, not malnourished. is that the same?
2. elevit pronatal (multivitamins + minerals): http://www.docsimon.com/article/elevit-pronatal-tbl-30
folic acid and calcium. check. magnesium prevents premature births. i definitely need that.
3. trihemic (multivitamins + iron + docusate sodium): http://www.drugs.com/mtm/trihemic-600.html
how many multivitamins do i need? "Never take more than the recommended dose of a multivitamin. Avoid taking any other multivitamin product within 2 hours before or after you take multivitamin with iron. Taking similar vitamin products together at the same time can result in a vitamin overdose or serious side effects." that's scary. seriously. i'm scared. but my ob said i should continue with the 1st 2 and add this to my vitamin intake. did i hear her right?
4. caltrate plus (calcium supplement with vitamin & minerals): http://www.caltrate.ca/Content/Products/caltratePlus.asp
all these have vitamins and/or minerals in them. and i take them together. my ob didn't say anything about not taking them at the same time.
these vitamins are driving me nuts.
to top it all off, i'm now 116 pounds! i hope all that additional weight is my baby. or whatever weight i gain from now until my next check-up, i hope it goes to my baby. he needs to get bigger. but not too big that i have to get a c-section. just "healthy big."
btw, my expected date of delivery (based on the cas), is april 18, 2010. hmmm.
cheers!
